(almost) sunken ship

My family went down to OMSI to see my my little brother's friend's Da Vinci Challenge team's bridge model (long story). Anyway, we had to park quite a ways away from OMSI. On the walk back to the car, we saw a sailboat that had somehow gotten stuck beneath the Hawthorne bridge. it was all tilted over, and it had its mast stuck under the bridge. A couple of fireboats and a sheriff's boat had to be brought out to remove it. We were watching really close by, on an overlook by the fire station on the east end of the Hawthorne bridge.

Snowboardin'!

Yesterday I went snowboarding up at Meadows with my friend Nathan and my dad and brother. It was pretty cool. I learned how to go off of jumps and just before lunch I landed every jump. It was really cold, though, with gusts at the top of Mt. Hood express at up to 45 mph! The wind was coming down the mountain, so you didn't feel it at all when you were riding down, but when you were riding the lifts up, your face got blasted. My lips were so cold I couldn't even talk! But we had fun.

WorldFest!!!!!

Hooray!!!!!!

Our lego robotics team has been selected as the FLL Core Values Ambassador Team. This means that we gat to go to the world championships in Atlanta, Georgia in April! While we did not win the Oregon state tournament, we entered an essay contest which was to see who exhibited the FLL core values best. And then, we won! Yay! Being guys we had a bit of a delayed reaction on the celebration, which confused the girls.

Look at the expression on Peter Warila's face in the second picture.

The state Lego robotics tournament was last week! We placed 3rd in presentation, while our sister team, the Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies, took first overall. Here are some pictures from competition. I will upload some video of our robot and our award-winning presentation later. ; )

Competition

Well, my computer is working again. It's a good thing, too, because State is on Saturday. Ironically enough, Ryan will be coming into the pits with us as our mentor. Jevon and I just made the mission work, so we're all set!

Computer trouble (yes, on my Mac)

I am not writing this on my computer. My computer charger doesn't work right so I'm writing this from my parents computer. What must have happened is that at the Um... sleepover last week (from which, Jevon and David, I did not get any "sleepover letdown" at all, thank you very much), someone must have accidentally hit my charger or tripped on the cord, which damaged the tip, breaking off part of it in the plug-in spot—a $150 repair job. Before you start laughing, Peter, think about this: On what do we show the presentation "we" made? On what do I write and rewrite the script? It's not that funny.
